Default New Driveshaft with '13 JK and 2.5" TF Coil Lift?

Greetings, all!

I know this issue has been talked about over and over again, but I would like to get full clarification on my set up and type of driving.

I have a ’13 Jk Sport 2 door, and planning on getting a 2.5” TF Coil lift with shock adapters. I do not plan on wheeling hard, just mild trails with the lady, no flexing, etc, just mild bumps. I plan on getting 35’s with this set up. I know exhaust spacers will help, but will I need to replace my DriveShafts with the 2.5” TF coil lift? Will it be enough with the 2.5” Coil Lift and Shock Adapters? I will obviously use the Flascal to get everything set up, but would really like to keep everything else OEM.

Thank you!

The exhaust spacers will be your cheapest way around the clearance issue. We prefer to see the drive shaft replaced as the exhaust spacers could create two additional locations for an exhaust leak. The spacers will be just fine for you but the driveshaft is the better option IMO.

Let us know if you would like pricing on any of the upgrades you are contemplating. Good luck with your build.

You don't absolutely have to get a new driveshaft right away. I have 10,000 miles on mine now and the shaft is good and the dust shield/boot is still intact. I have done quite a bit of wheeling in that 10,000 miles. No telling how much longer I have. You will want to start saving for a new driveshaft right away cause some people aren't that lucky. I wouldn't waste money on the exhaust spacer like said above.

I went along fine with 33's and a 3" lift and had no drive shaft problems.

only had to swap them when I went to big tires, you should be ok.

I haven't had any issues either, having said that I've only been out on the trails a few times and have had the lift less than a couple months but it's my understanding that a replacement drive shaft isn't nessesary for lifts of 2.5 inches or below.
Like the OP said, it's a good idea to have some dollars saved up for replacement parts with our jeep builds lol

I've got a 3.5 re lift w 35s and was quick to rip the dust boot because of the geometry. Driveshaft upgrade was pretty cheap for a much better product

With the 3" lift, EVO skid plates and 33" duratracs I did a couple of Jeep Jamborees plus some local trails with no problems other than discovering that I just HAD to get lockers...

When they took off the factory driveshafts when I did my overhaul they were ok, I did had two bent lower control arms!
