Default New gas tank

I have a 2008 JKU. Over the past few months every time I fill up the gas tank fuel pours out once full. I took the Jeep into the dealership on monday and they found nothing wrong. They told me that they would email Chrysler and get back with me. Today they called and said they have a new fuel tank on order for me and will have it installed next week. I have never seen Chrysler move so fast. Has anyone else had this fuel problem.

Had the same issue with my 2008. They replaced the fuel tank under warranty (28k) and that resolved the issue. There is a back flow valve in the tank filler tube that can not be serviced so a tank replacement is the only option.

They must have corrected this problem for the 2010 Wranglers, because I've never had a problem with mine.

This is getting to be a pretty well known problem.
How many miles on your Jeep, and is it being covered by warranty?

This is a huge problem that's been known for some time..... I think there waiting for some one to burn to death before they do a recall.... Why fix it no questions asked unless you all ready knew about it..... Smooth move jeep.

Couldn't have said it better with a week to work on the post. Perfect.

Give it time. Of the four JKs in my club, the only one who hasn't had it happen (yet) is a nearly new Rubi with about 10K miles.
