Default New Glove Box

Hey guys,

My JK was broken into last night and the thief broke my glove box open. I am hoping for advice for what to replace it with. I haven't looked into a new Jeep glove box but Tuffy has one for about a $150 and Smittybilt for $60. Anyone have an experience with either product? is the Tuffy worth the extra 90? Thank you in advance for the advice!

I don't know about the Smittybuilt. But I bought an aftermarket box for under my seat and because I use it daily the tumblers are worn enough that it's causing me grief. I would pay the extra cash and double check the warranty.

It was a pain to find and order a replacement lock. Not to mention the cost.

Another vote for Tuffy. Very wise investment.

Don't know about the Tuffy glove box but I have had the Tuffy underseat conceal carry drawer in my 2010 JKU for about a year. I lock and unlock it almost every day and the locking and slide mechanisms still work like the day it was installed. I never lock my glove box. The stuff I don't want to end up in criminal hands goes in Tuffy.

The underseat drawer is great for 2008-2010 but I prefer the console insert for 2011-2012.

I am gettin' the Tuffy glove box and half center console. I work offshore and wanna have some relief that my things will stay in my Jeep and not in theives hands....Go Tuffy all the way. I also plan on gettin the trunk they offer...a little more money than other trunks for a 2011 2 door, but no drilling and looks damn well built. My JK stays unattended for 7 to 21 days in a heliport parking lot, so I want the BEST...and Tuffy is THE BEST!!!!....PERIOD!

I cant say anything about the glove box, but I do have a tuffy rear deck which is very nice. Keeps my tools secure. Someone would have to do a lot of work to get to them. I am interested in this thread though. Wanting to get a tuffy glove box one of these days.
