new guy with a bumper question
Hello all, Im a proud new owner of a new mountain edition unlimited. Well, with under 3k miles on it, someone decides to hit the front bumper. I was planning on doing a lift for my first mod but looks like it might be the bumper first. Going through all the bumpers out there my wife really likes OCF full width http://www.quadratec.com/products/12126_0001.htm
Is this gonna drop the front with the extra weight? I was planning on the tf 2.5 bb, but should I now plan on coils too? So far we love the jeep and but dunno if we'll ever be REAL off roaders. Im secure in my manhood to admit it
But we do want this sucker to look as good as we can make it.

I have heard of an aftermarket front bumper sagging the front of a JK lifted with a BB. So you should think about also adding coils. I have the Rough Country 3.25" lift with an aftermarket bumper and have no sag. You could opt not to use the .75" spacers included with this lift if 2.5" was all that was desired and you would get a pretty complete 2.5" lift.
With that bumper you will get some sag with a 2.5 BB. If you're going to lift it, go with a coil lift. You may still need to add a 1/2 to 3/4 inch spacer up front depending on the spring rate of the coils that come with your lift. If you want to add the bumper and don't want to go with a complete lift, you can always add the JKS ACOS adjustable coil over spacers up front only. They're adjustable from 1" to 4" and will level the JK out real nice
My PJ bumper dropped the front (w/TF BB) 1/2". I took the rear spacers out and it leveled out nicely... I ran 315/75R16 on 16X8's without any contact... if you need additional room cut your fenders or go with some flat style fenders... Just my opinion...

I still run the stock bumper, but have added a Warn 9500Ti, Rugged Ridge mounting plate, and a Blue Ox tow plate. All of which weighs in at around 200 pounds. It dropped the stock suspension about 3/4 to 1 inch. I added a set of Rancho leveling coils and recovered the sag, plus took out the factory rake. I now sit level or just slightly up in the front and the ride was much improved over stock. It was around $200 for the coils and install. I was even able to keep the stock shocks. No issues in over 25K miles.
As far as front bumpers go I was eye balling the LOD, AEV and the ARB. Take a look at them to get a good feel for all the different styles. Plus there is a thread here where people have posted pics of their LOD bumpers .... Pretty awesome

I should note that all the front sag went away when i added my TF 2.5 coil lift. I do expect to have to make adjustment when i add a winch.
Good luck in your choice

You know, i rarely see any one talk about the Fab Fours Bumbers, I think they look sick. They make a full width one too.
I think sag wouldn't be an issue, unless you stuck a 100lbs wench on the front.
