Default New Lift

I just got an 08 Wrangler X... Pretty basic except for a different front bumper and some siderunners, and new sound system. I'm lookin to give it a 4" lift and some decent sized tires but am not too experienced with this stuff yet. My buddies can teach me the mechanic work and install them but I'm wondering if anybody has some suggestions about what they think is the best combo cause I need help deciding what I should get....

Thanks

personally i like teraflex lifts kits. they are priced well and are very complete. ive installed 3 and have never had a problem. i have also heard that rubicon express and full traction make a very good kit. the 3 inch lift is a very good lift for moderate 4 wheeling and you wont need new driveshafts. as far as tires go, try 33's or 35's. 33's put less stress on the axles and drivetrain. but a 3 inch lift will fit 35's easily on a jk. good luck and have fun with your new jeep!

Welcome to the sight GoArmy. Try doing a search, you'll find several thread about different lifts and wheel combos. But to sum it up, it all depends on what you like, the type of wheeling you do and what your budget it. factor all those in and you should be able to find what you're looking for.

Welcome to the site! There is so much info here you will probably want to just start reading and it is guaranteed you will learn then go from there. You can put a nice lift on for fairly cheap if you want to and you can probably spend as much as you want to spend.

Default Lift/ties/wheels

I agree with what was said. I did a ton of research online and asked numerous people questions before deciding what type of lift/wheels and tires to get. I am very happy with my choice and love the ride and off road handling. It's all about personal choice and budget but the experience of seasoned veterans is good. I've only had my JK for about 7 months now.

I went with the 4" Superlift, ProComp 8179 Wheels and MT Baja MTZ's (35's).

I love my set-up.

Have fun.

PS. Just got back about 6 months ago from a 15 month tour in the sandbox. Take care!

Try Teraflex directly at www.teraflex.biz or www.northridge4x4.com

They are both sponsers here, lots of good customer service reports on Northridge.
