Default new mods..

been lurking for the last few months since I purchased my 08 JK 2dr softop halfdoor..

and finnaly got the pictures downloaded...

first mod on the 08 JK was MUDFLAPS!!...that little sucker will FLING mud from the bottom of the flair to the front of the doorhandle...(I live on a dirt/gravel road..and was really annoying to grab the door handle and get a handfull of mud and roadgrime...!!:pissed

viola!!...piece of aluminum diamondplate I had layin around..cost..NOTHING!!

then onto needing more light!!...hella 500 series..made the brackets out of 3/16 plate and used a rubber backer between the body and the bracket to keep it from damaging the paint...

then onto the front bumper...needed someplace to hang my winch..and get rid of the huge factory one..that the tires loved to throw mud onto!!

1/4in plate steel..fully welded..hammertone krylon..gotta cut the winchcable hole and hawse fairlead..but currently usable...(noplace to hook a strap on the old factory one!!)

and the icing on the cake...reflective Autobots logo's from e-bay!! cuz IM A DORK!!!

I applaud your creativity and original thinking on the mudflaps but i have a suggestion. Why don't you paint those and your bumper black. Maybe even paint the winch too.

the tube fenders and sliders are probably going to end up that silver...(but I dunno...black paint is CHEAP and plentyful...never know...

the winch does need painted..just wanted to get it on lastweek before we had our last snowstorm...

I got a free weekend...might pull it off and shoot it..

the bumper mouts are 2x2 square tubing welded to the face on the backside..then bolted to the frame brackets..

The advantage is it might not get ripped off on the first trail like a rubber flap does. The disadvantage is that if it does get ripped off, it's likely to do some damge to your vehicle. Or the one behind you.

Point taken on the silver thing. I guess since there is a rescue green jeep in my town and it has everything black on it i think that is what i am used to seeing.

COngratulations you are probaly the only member with mud flap. Those little suckers are the first things I remove when I buy a vehicle. I was happy my jeep did not have any. But if you like them that is the only thing that counts.
