Default New Muffler on a 2012

Anyone put a new muffler on the 2012 yet? If so what kind and how does it sound. I also noticed some kind of resonator drivers side just rear of the front door. Anyone know what that is?

There are some people who swapped out the exhausts on the 2012. As far as I know, almost any axleback system works fine with the 2012. When you get a system that includes a mid-pipe (such as MBRP) - I am not sure if it poses a problem or not.

Just swap out your factory muffler and you should be good to go. And save some money in the long run too.

I had a Magnaflo on my 08 and it sounded great. I'm wondering if I leave the resonator on if it will degrade the sound of the new muffler. Not to mention whether or not there is any HP loss due to the change in back pressure. I would assume there would be gains but you never know now days with these new motors. The exhuast system under engine is crazy on this thing!

I don't think the 2012's have a resonator. It is probably another catalytic converter. I will tell you this, the 2012 seems to have a louder motor than the old 3.8s. The 3.8's are less "smooth sounding" though.

I think it's a resonator. The cats are right after the headers.
