no rim is going to be perfectly balanced since there is a hole drilled through part of it for a valve stem. They should be the lightest where the valve stem is. Often times a good tire shop will balance the rim and mark the light / heavy spot, and do the same with the tire, and put the heaviest part of the tire where the lightest part of the rim is so they will help offset each other.

As the AEV Pintler has some protection around the valve stem it would actually be the heaviest part of the wheel.

I don't think an independant tire shop would be an all knowing expert as to a specific wheel's balance variables. How could they possibly know each and every wheel makers' specs concerning that? That would be a very tall order. I think they are full of shit. Most alloy wheels are pretty damn close. I am betting they are making a mistake somehow. Have they turned the tires on the wheels? Probably not. They don't sound too professional to me.

I wasn't insulting anyone. I was giving you help and a suggestion like you asked. Trust in me that it won't happen again.

Did you read my last question? I asked if anyone else has had this problem w/ new rims. I have returned them and now waiting for new rims to arrive.
