Default new spring install

will it hurt anything to take the spring out by jacking it up and just taking off the shock only,,,,, not track bar?

This is the way someone was doing it, it worked, he got the spring out and replaced it with the new one but will it damage anything?

It should not damage anything, as long as the person doing it did not have to force the side in question down too far to get the spring in place. If just shocks is not good enough, it is better to at least disconnect the track bar so as to not bend or tweak the known weak track bar mount on the axle when trying to force it down to gain the space needed. I was able to get my OME springs into place without disconnecting the track bar. All I had to do was disconnect the sway bar links, brake line mounts, and shock for it to drop far enough for the spring to go into place. Hope that helps!

how about if you use a spring depresser to remove a stock spring and install heavy duty springs

Make sure it is a high quality spring compressor and use it with caution. Those springs compressors are like a loaded weapon with tool parts and springs flying if they break. Just be careful and dont over compress the spring.

It won't hurt anything, but the LH front spring can be a real bugger if you don't have the compressor or remove the trackbar.
