Default new springs

I'm replacing the springs on my jk. it has a 2.5" lift with blistien shocks. The folks at quadratec recommend I go with old man emu 600lb rear springs and old man emu 90-180lb front springs. Thoughts?
I do pull trailers/boats pretty often and have aftermarket front and rear bumpers with tire carrier and 35's

What do you do with your jeep? Towing things around quite a bit? Reponses gonna vary with what intended use is.

^ what he said.

I don't buy anything from Quadratec, and your post just validated my suspicions. OME coils are meh. They're good if you don't plan on articulating your suspension to the max/if you're running a heavy overland rig where suspension travel isn't a big deal. They have short free length, and ride really stiff if you're not running a loaded pig of a rig. This is especially true for those HD coils.

I can't believe they recommended the HD coils. Did they ask you any questions pertaining to the use of your Jeep? Those HD springs will turn your JK into a wheel barrow, and you'll feel every crack in the road. Much better options out there, and we can start recommending some if you tell us how you use your rig, what's on it now, etc. A picture would help as well.

There's a new one.

We all just have such different uses. Some of us play in the rocks, some are towing heavy trailers or boats, or do overlanding. Just a little backstory adn use description will help. Some people like those springs for their specific purpose, but they are not suitable for MOST. What springs do you currently have on there and why are you wanting to move away from them? Is the 2.5" "lift" just a puck right now?

It's a 2012 jeep jk with front and rear bumper tire carrier and winch and 35's. I do pull trailers/boats with the jeep as well as loading down a roof rack. I also drive a lot at a bare minimum 64 miles a day but mostly higher than that. What do you want a picture of? The jeep or the springs that are on it now? Whats wrong with Quadratec I have had no issues with them? Who do you use for online purchases?

Picture of the Jeep would help. There are many different bumpers out there, some weigh more than others. How often do you pull a trailer/your boat? What coils are on there now, and why do you want to move away from them?

Nothing is wrong with Quadratec, I just prefer other companies such as Northridge4x4. Usually the prices on Northridge are better, and if you use the code "JKFORUM" at checkout you'll usually receive another 10-15% off most things. The Northridge staff is also very knowledgable, and would never recommend a coil spring without asking you a bunch of questions.

Ok so I'm a little biased

I rode in a buddies Jeep (lightly loaded 2 door) who ran the OME HD coils for two weeks (he bought them second hand while waiting to piece his long arm suspension together). It rode terribly stiff, and I'd never wish it upon someone else unless they have a heavy/loaded rig. You're right, it's completely subjective...but like you said, they're not suitable for most people.

Your description makes more sense now. I've not had nor ridden in anything with OME springs, but I do see most using them in similar application as you've described. Someone with those springs here might chime in.

Quadratec isn't my preferred place, but I'm in Texas so if I can save sales tax (and free shipping) elsewhere I will. My preferred vendor is Northridge4x4. You might double check the price of the springs there using JKFORUM discount code. Also, Quadratec usually offer a 10% discount to forum members, but you have to place the order and then call em up I believe….which is a bit cumbersome.

I'm mostly overland and pulling not far enough along in the my build to hit the trails with confidence. The springs that are on it now are the rough country lift that had been installed right before I bought the jeep. I'm wanting to upgrade because there is a noticeable difference in the height of the truck as I continue to add weight. It's also sagging unevenly, more to the passenger side of the vehicle
