It does look good.

With a 35" tire, the factory setup provides some support from the bumper. This does not. Is the connection at the door stronger than factory?

He doesn't need any investors. He just got his jeep about a month ago and this is the first thing he's made for it. I think he would like a little feedback on the design of it. If he does decide to sell these carriers, I'm sure he will become a sponsoring vendor before he sells to anyone on here.

I don't know (I don't own a JK yet). Can you tell anything from looking at the first picture?

He hasn't had time to test it offroad, but he says the mount doesn't flex at all while driving onroad.

I dont have my JK yet either. Or I would go take a look. If he decides he wants the same support (assuming it is even needed) it would be easy enough to make some sort of spacer/bracket from the bumper to the tire. He obviously has the skills.

Maybe if he made something to beef up the factory door hinges, other wise I like the stock one with my 35's as it allows the bumper to carry some load.

Just my $.02.

X2.

Craftsmanship looks great though. If he's looking for feedback, I'd try to make it tuck into the body a little closer, in order to make contact w/ the "bumpers" on the rear gate. This will help prevent movement and fatigue over time. I guess the jury's still out on how the JK tailgate will hold up, but on older Jeeps, anything over a 33", or maybe a 35", will cause sagging over time.

It also wouldn't hurt to add some gussets to the design, and/or add some braces connecting the legs to each other for regidity. Also maybe make a "flange" or ring on the side that bolts to the tailgate that all the legs will then be welded to. Just a thought.

Again, nice looking work.
