Default New tires on Jeep

Just put a set of Dick Cepek Mud Countrys on my Jeep today. I have a Wrangler X 4dr (white). They are 285x75x16. They seem like very good tires. It was a toss up between BFG muds and the new Cepek's. I have always run BFG so I decided to change it up. They fit well and do not rub. I put them on the stock 7" alloy rim. The tires look good on the rim. I have not had any rubbing issues. I have a full traction 2" lift on the way. These tires will work without a lift if if they are used for street/mild trail use (i.e. fire roads). Any more than that I would get a lift. I am new to this internet stuff and will try to get pictures of before after the lift.

all 285x75x16 "D sometimes E " load range are made primarly made for trucks. Soooo they have a more tread plies and sidewall plies. Usually the PSI is around 65-80 PSI. So if you put these tires on our light weight jeeps it makes the ride a little stiffer. The Cepek mud countrys max PSI is 65. I have mine at 40 PSI, might lower them to 35. The ride has a little more bounce. I would say it is 20% stiffer than stock. Evertyhing else seems like stock, i.e. body/ lean or roll. I went with this size tire because I did not want to change rims. If I changed rims I would get a rims/tire size that allowed the use of "C" load rated tires. I am happy with the change I made keeping the stock rims.

I have no idea what rims are offered because I did not look into them.

You should use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended pressure that is on the sticker in the driver's door frame. The tire manufacturers rating is just what it says, a maximum. That maximum is what the tire needs to support it's maximum rated weight. Since you are nowhere near that weight per tire you can safely back way off of the pressure.

Just FYI I used to have a Samurai that called for around 18 PSI if I remember correctly. It was actually dangerous at the 35psi that the tire shop put the tires at.
