New Wheel/Backspacing/Wheel Spacer question...
Hey gang,
Here's a little bit of background info before I get into the dilema. I installed 37's on my wife's chevy. She had Hankook 35" RT03's on there before... but 17's.
Now my JK has 16's. I have Spidertrax wheels spacers installed already.
So here's my question. I have found a good deal on a set of American racing Fuel wheels in a 17X8. Problem is, they have 5.5" BS. So please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I keep my wheel spacers on there and run these wheels, I would be left with about 4" of backspacing and should be fine... correct?
I can get these wheels for less then a set of steelies. Thanks inadvance!

With your spacers and the wheels BS of 5.5" I would gather you have the 1.5" spacers. This should work....but if you get wider wheels they will stick out about 1" outside your Stock fenders.
I can't remember the laws in Alberta about the amount the tires can stick out from the stock wheel wells or are you looking at getting wider Bushwacker flares in the future???
Also, with that amout sticking out are you going to complain if you get gravel splatted along your rocker panels, doors and rear fender flares when you go off-road???? Just some things to think about with the BS of 4" and my past knowledge of driving Alberta Forestry and back roads....that gravel is like a sandblaster
I have 4.5" BS on my aftermarket rims and have 33x12.5R17 STT's and they stick out about 1/2" outside the stock fenders and I have been getting some decent rock chips from the Forestry Roads this past summer on my fender flares and door hinges....BUT it's a JEEP!!! However, some people don't like to see rock chips on a new vehicle.

Thanks for the input man...
Your right about the roads here , but to be honest, I really don't give a rat's a$$ about the paint. I'm booking it in to get the entire body line-x'ed anyway. I have TF Rocksliders that block alot of crap and the paint is already dinged and dents and scratched to heck.
yer 100% correct though, it is a jeep! lol!
