Default Newbee Questions

Ok My new RED 08 2door Rubicon will be here in a few weeks. What I would like to know is? With a 35 inch tire and stock 4.10 gears do they do good or should I go with 4.88 or 5.13? Ok I was also thinking of a 4 inch lift with 37`s Now I have heard of people having problems with going that big. If you could help that would be great!!! Also any pictures of yours with 35`s or 37`s and what inch lift it has, with the gears.
Thanks

1) should you regear? Probably, but are you running the auto or the manual? If manual you shoul dbe ok for a while, auto definitely regear.

2) 37's on a 3dr and 4" of lift, the problem you have i sthat you most likely will have to replace the driveshafts.

Pics? go into the trailes and rides sections and look at teh east coast meet and ride, had a couple on 37's and my silver 2 dr is on 35's. Or any of teh CA runs, there are a bunch on 35's and I think some on 37'.

I honestly don't think you need to regear even with an auto. I am ruuning 35 and 410 and while it isn't a beast, i think it does just fine IMHO.

It'll work and pretty well around town but on the highway (especially climbing long hills), it'll suck. Basically, you will loose 6th gear completely if you have a stick and O/D if you have an auto. For 35's, I would recommend no less than 4.88's but if you want a little more pep like me, 5.13's are the only way to go especially if you plan on going 37's some day. Trust me, they will breath new life into the power of your Jeep
