newbie- gearing question
Howdy folks-
07 jku X. Finally lifted it and put some shoes on! Really excited about it. Went with the Zone Offroad 3" suspension w/ 35s. Looks awesome in my opinion!
Questions that crossed my mind today after the fact is: gearing... am I going to screw anything up by running stock X gearing w/ 35s on stock rubi wheels?
ESP... will having the dealer program computer for tire size make the esp warning go away on exit ramps and other sharp turns?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Stock gearing will give worse mpg's, worse performance, and may cause more stress to the drivetrain. It is a preference. If you can deal with it, then don't worry about regearing.
The dealer can not program for 35's. They can go to 'stock' 32's. You will need an aftermarket programmer/tuner to set the new tires/speedo. (AEV ProCal, Superchips Flashpaq, etc...)
Is your steering wheel centered? It will be a bit more sensitive after the lift and tires, but an off-center wheel will have the most effect on the esp issues you are having.

'Looking' centered and 'being' centered may be two different things...
You might grab a wrench and double check just to be sure.

One good thing about the ProCal mentioned above is a function that tells you when the 'computer' thinks the wheel is centered.
Also as mentioned, the esp will be more finicky after the lift and tires, and coming on while in sharp turns at speed (on-ramps/off-ramps, etc) is a known issue.

Nope, not at all.
But, since you asked...
Which components are in the lift?
Coils, shocks, links, rear trackbar bracket?
No cams or adj ca's = no caster correction.
No adj tracbars = no axle re-centering.
Camber is non-adjustable.
Toe-In? Very likely that it did not need to be adjusted.
Sooo, what exactly did you pay them to 'align'??
Quite a bit of change for them to center the steering wheel, huh...
Do you have the before and after specs from the alignment, by chance?

If the esp is already confused, wrenching on your drag link can't make it any worse all you need is a helping hand for two to five minutes. Keep adjusting till it comes out right. I had to loosen tighten and test drive my JK five times before it worked just right.

Thanks again for all the input.

the lift is coils, shocks, trackbar bracket and swaybar links...
Yep, it's a bit of a scam the shops run. Without adjustable components, you are paying them to re-center the steering wheel, which you can do yourself in 5 minutes. Now you know!
