Default Newbie needs answers: Headers & performance

I just got my new-to-me '07 Ruby. 37" with 6" lift, 5.13's. Previous owner had completely removed the muffler. I don't get that (I am a wrench and understand motors, etc.) I just installed a muffler at a great shop in Albuquerque. (Highly recommended: forum member - Shop name is Sandia Muffler!)
Anyways, my driver side exhaust manifold has a leak. I think a small crack in it. I'm out of warranty. Should I just replace with a stock manifold, or are any of you aware of a REAL good header system out there that is not too loud, and actually helps performance? ie Banks, etc.

Also, I would like a lil more power. Are you guys actually seeing any power improvents with CAI, or chips, or programming? Thanks

I would also like to know if anybody has headers? If so what kind? Any sound change(the louder the better) and performance increase if any. Thanks.

What I've figured out after reading all the threads ect. Is that a supercharger or a hemi convertion is the way to go if you want a little more power....

It's amazing that I havn't heard much about headers. Long time ago, they were the way to go... I hope others have some good iniput here about headers..

For what you get the prices are a little steep.

Put in the Banks headers. I didn't notice any difference, sound or power. In fact they were almost identical in design. I did see an increase with throttle response with a CAI though. Had a power chip...took it out.

I hear that the header really opens things up and it is a noticable difference. I know banks or gibson make headers for the JK. I only know of Gibson from Alpha Expedition. Good Luck let us know what you do
