Default Newbie wheel question

I am looking into getting aftermarket wheels for my jk. Currently it has 255/70R18 sahara wheels and I was looking to get 275/65R18 wheels. Thing is I feel like I'm wasting money to buy a fifth wheel.

According to a tire calculator... The stock diameter is 32.06 and circumference 100.704. The new tire would be 32.07 diameter and 100.766 for the circumference.

Are the differences so small it's negligible. Then I can I use the stock as a spare and put a cover on it or will I shred apart my differential if use it as a spare.

I imagine its no good bc after thousands if revolutions it's no longer negligible.

You will be just fine using stock spare if you need to.

Buy the fifth wheel (spare) and rotate it in with the tire rotation and you will get 20% more life from a set vs just doing 4. I would go with a 17" wheel as well as tires are cheaper and you will have far more choices.

It is not clear if you are buying wheels, tires, or both.

X2 on 17"wheels & the tire sidewalls are usually taller.(more bite, more depth before a wheel is hit)
