Default Next mod, gears or 5th spare + Procal?

Looking for my next mod, '10 Rubi, automatic. Running 35s and a leveling kit, no spare. Fine with the power with OD off, but I live in a flat city. Options are either regear to 5.38s, or get my 5th spare + Procal and a few other things. Jeeps my DD. Any recommendations? Not going to plan any offroad trips until I get my spare, but I'm fine with that as my hiking/backpacking trips keeps that in check.

I'd do the spare, procal etc if you don't hate the way it drives.... The procal should help a bit. I know my Superchip made a difference before I regeared to 5.13's same set up as you auto 4dr on 35's
BUT why 5.38 ?? 5.13's will be more then enough and a little better on fuel too !!
Good luck

Most of the threads I've read recommended going with a 5.38 over 5.13. Seems like a lot of the people with 5.13 regeared when 5.38s weren't available. Regearing is the biggest expense I foresee in the mods I want to do, it'd be nice just to get it out of the way.

Gears are a hug leap, expensive and worth it. But a spare is important as well. 5:38s are steep for 35's and your rpm's will be high at freeway speeds. Good luck with you discussions, I know for me it's always hard to decide whats next.

Spare!... I got a flat in a rock quarry in the middle of a offraod park. So apare was the best money I ever spent gears can come lateter a spare might be 500 bucks or more but its worth 1000,000,000 when you actually need it

Spare tire.
Always have a spare. Spare batteries, spare light, spare knife, spare rope, spare mags, spare water, ect...
Don't be the guy sitting there looking sad at his inoperable rig in the middle of nowhere because he thought some shiny thing was more important than a spare tire.

Just sayin. You're a grown man. Do as you wish.

Spare + Procal. Sounds like you're doing fine w/the higher gearing as is. No need to rush it if that's the case.

Not having a spare could bite you on the ass at any time.

5.38 seems like very tight gears for a daily driver to me. Im not sure I would drive anywhere without a spare personally so that would sure be my choice even if you up for a steel wheel and matching size tire to save some money. Heck I would toss a used spare over a steel wheel with a tire cover over it if i had to before not having one with me. With 5.38 gears you are also almost begging for ring and pinion problems as well.

Spare would come next after gears, I'd just be mall crawling until then. Read a few 5.13 vs 5.38 threads, and it seems like it's pretty equal. I know I'll run 37s after my 35s wear out, hence considering 5.38s now.
