Default nitto mud grapplers

real world "life with" the nitto mud grappler in a size 37 or larger. I am starting to shop for new tire/wheel set up. I want decent wear as I will be driving to and from a ton of trails, but want grip on the rocks. suggestions on tire wheel sizes? need to get over a 37 and a beadlock. Fully ready to take the hard hit in the pocket for the right set up

Ok well mud grapplers really do look great and are great tires all around. They are an argumentative topic though. The tread and way they sit usually isn't best for a wrangler. Let's face it, weight is always an issue for us haha. Technically you should never put mud grapplers on a wrangler due to lack of weight sitting on them. Those tires are meant to have alot more weight on them such as: F-150, Excursion, Chevy 2500, or dodge 1500. As much as I love them and their "lizard skin" look, I would never get them due to the fact that they ride too hard for any jeep.

I would look at the trail grapplers too. They will ride better and last longer than the mud grapplers and are killer off road. My friend has 37" mud grapplers on his truck and they are loud and not as smooth on the road but also are great off road and he says they are great on rocks

Exactly my point. His friend has alot more weight and they still are not smooth. It will shake the hell out of you jk. I have trail grapplers in 35's and I love them. They still do great on rocks, still ride smooth on the highway, and honestly I think they make less noise than my 33 Mickey thompsons... Kinda weird. Lemme post up some pix.

Ive got 33's and love them. Off road they are awesome. Here in Fl not many rocks, but the man made rock gardens, Ive had no problems. In mud they are unstoppable, but they dont like soft sand unless you have speed into it.

On the road, they are loud, everyone knows your coming....tread wear has been good, but its not my dd. They are much easier to balance than similar tires.

I will be replacing with 35's once these wear out.

Hope that helps.

Yes, they are a heavy tire. Mine have worn evenly, of course I rotate them regularly and I havent noticed any rougher ride than other strictly "mud" tires that I have owned in the past.

im also shopping for new tires, looking at either the 40" mud grappler or the 41.5" pb rocker.

also looking at beadlock wheels, trying to decide between atx slab, allied raceline, or spyderlock. i like the spyderlocks, but $360x5 is a lil pricey for wheels
