Default Nitto Trail Grappler defects?

On 4/8/13 I had some 35x12.50 R17's mounted. I came in from offshore to find a flat tire. I looked for the obvious, but nothing. Aired it up and drove home. Soaped up my tire to find (2) pinhole leaks. Went to put my spare on and it was flat with the same type holes. I just aired up the tire to 50 psi and now I have (5) pinhole leaks. I have around 12,000 miles on the tires, never been on rocks, just (2) days at the beach earlier this tear. Here is a pic of (1) of the leaks. Is the tire coming apart? I don't know, but I have to drive a good way to a Nitto dealer to find out.

That's crazy. Never had this issue with my last set. Are you sure someone didn't try and sabotage one?

Sounds like someone took an icepick or something to your tires.

It doesn't look like that. No tare marks like someone had forced something into the tire. And why did I only see 2 holes with 35psi and 5 holes at 50psi? I thought the same thing at 1st, but why punch 5 holes in one tire and 2 holes in the spare?

I hope it's defects, cause if this is the start of buying tires every 2 weeks, I'll be broke in no time.

Maybe they got tired? An Ice pick would barely leave a visible mark. Hopefully you can get them warrantied or fixed.

Hope the best for you OP and maybe Nitto can do something for ya. I've never seen this kind of defect with Nittos. The only negative ive seen with their tires is the difference in mileage you can get out of them even though you maintenance them the same way.

Why kill one and then the spare? So you can't change it out...which would be a pitiful gesture. Either way hope you find out what's wrong and sorry to hear about it. Side note I've had these tires in the past and had no similar issues assuming it's a manufacturer defect.

I called my insurance and vandalism is covered on my tires, so I'll find out Monday when I get them checked out.

You can't be serious. You really think that a hole in your tire is a defect?
