Default No bump stops??

My JKU came to me with about a 2.5" lift and 35s. But no bump stops. The build was halted abruptly out state when my friend passed away, so there's no knowing the back story.

What stops would you add?

Normally you are supposed to put the same amount of bump stop as the lift to prevents over coil and shocks compression.

On my 2.5'' lift I have 2'' bumpstops.

This bring me to another question, I did not found any useful infos on the web ans sorry to steal the thread:

If I would run with bushwacker flat fenders and 35'' what is the minimum bumpstop required for AEV 2.5 XT lift, taking into consideration sway bar disconected and I do not want to bind the coils ?

Every rig and setup is a little different. Best thing to do is get it out and flex it a bit and take a look. Flex it further and check again.Iv got a buddy who runs a 3.5 in rk kit and has never used bumpstops. Mind you hes nuts and I know hes damaged things this way. You might get away with a 1 inch
Most likely youll need a 2 inch. Thats what ill most likely run on my mk when it comes in

I dont always drive where others cant. but when I do, its in my Jeep. Stay muddy my friends

35" tires with stock flares requires 2.5" front and rear extended bumpstops.

With flat flares, you wouldn't need front extended bumpstops to stop 35" tire contact with the body or flares, but you may need some to keep your shocks from bottoming out or your coils from over compressing

In the rear, with flat flares and 35s, you won't need more than 2.5" extended bumpstops. It just depends on how much you are willing to cut in the fender well.

cut the flares, compress the suspension and measure how much additional bumpstop you need to prevent bottoming out the shocks.

I will measure my shocks and coil compression with my actual bumpstops after installing the flat fenders and I will see how much space is left. I will adjust the bumpstops accordingly.

I will let you know later, cannot do that before at least one month, still a lot of snow here...

With bilstein 5100 for 2.5'' lift the colapsed lenght is very close to stock rubi shocks lenght. I'm sure the coil can compress more so hence the reason to reduce bumpstop to gain uptravel.

The bumpstops included with the lift was to be used with the stock fenders. With Flat fenders you gain more clearance for more uptravel.
