I had the 4.10 gears. It was tolerable, but I missed the acceleration. Went to 4.88s with a manual, what a difference. Gas mileage will decrease a little. But with the price of gas now below $2 - not an issue.

I have 33's with 3.21 gears and a 6 speed. It is decent enough to get around, but I do plan on regearing. I am going to go with 4.56 or 4.88, havent made up my mind there yet.

I am not sure I follow som eof the complaints... I run 33's with stock 3.21 and have no issues.

I do have a manual and have heard complaints regarding those iwth an Auto, 3.21's and 33 and bigger tires.

My jeep performs very well - mostly sand - and for the road the 3.21 gears are great...

Am I missing something?

I just went through the whole ordeal of putting 35,s on my Jk and you can ONLY get two sets of ratios on these axles.Your choice of either 4:88 in which I used and they work GREAT or 5:13 which is to much for my daily driver.I also installed a hypertech power tuner and cold air intake to "crank up" the horse a little bit to give me the climbing ability

3.21s on 32s here. Plan to go 33 when I need new tires. When I tow a small trailer it's pretty sluggish but it does the job. I may jump to 4.56 for the better towing.

Your going to notice a bad gear combo with an auto alot more than a manual. Its also more convenient to keep it in a lower gear with a manual when accelerating. With an auto you just have to sit there and take it .

I don't think 5.38's are available, unless you have dana 60's, someone correct me if I'm wrong as I've been hoping to hold out for something more than the 5.13's

I have 35's and 3.21 manual.

As long as you accept the fact that it will never be fast it is tolerable.
I also have Hypertech and MBRP Exhaust and that has helped regain some power.
