Default Not Happy with Hood Bumper Replacements

So I was washing my Jeep and one of the hood bumpers popped out due to the high pressure hose washing it out of its socket.

As a result, there has not been a bumper on the passenger side of my Jeep for 8 months and lately there has been a slew of electrical problems with my Jeep, but more on that later.

Thinking this was related, I decided to get new hoop bumpers to plug up the problem once and for all so I found some bolt ons on Quadratec.

There were some more expensive ones that bolted on but I liked the design of these better.

Once I got the product in the mail, I was a little bit puzzled on how they were supposed to screw on. There were no directions with the product and I was curious on how the bumpers were supposed to screw on when the holes in the hood were much larger and there were no washers provided with it to keep the bumpers from coming out of the holes.

As you can see the bolt goes right through the hood.

I pulled the fire wall thing off to expose the holes.

So I had to get out in L.A. traffic and go all the way up to the hardware store for 2 washers.

I got the washers and got one on the drivers side...

Now I have to modify this washer somehow to make it fit in the hole or go all the way back in L.A. traffic to exchange a washer out for a new one!!!!

What a pain in the ass!!! Its beyond me why this company doesnt include washers and directions with the product. I'm a do it yourself tool guy but this is just pathetic.

I got some 1/2" black nylon caps from the hardware section and just popped them in. They fit flush with the hood and keep water from going into engine bay. But, you can't put your windshield down. I never do that anyway.

So I was able to tape the washer to a long stick and slip it around the back of the hood panel and get it slotted for the bolt.

Here is the finished product. I'm happy with the look but as far as the aspect of getting them on thats a whole other story.

I did the vector ufo and ufo minis...love the look. Little pricey for what they are...but I like them.

It's to hold the windshield down with a small line so it doesn't bounce up and down.

If you drop your windshield the bar is to tie it down to the hood. Without securing it, the windshield would flop up and down while you are offroading and probably dent the hood and possibly jar the glass out of the windshield.
