Not sure which lift kit
Hello all,
I have a 2010 jku Sahara and am looking at upgrading the suspension. I am looking at getting a 3" or a 3.5" lift that can take some abuse but also is good on road as well. I want something that can handle being tested off road (not hard core rock crawling but solid trail and mud stuff), but will also provide me with good on road ability as well considering it is a daily driver as well. I'm not that into spending thousands of dollars in the lift but don't want some cheap junk either. Looking for something that gets me everything I need(such as adjustable track bar, quick disconnects, control arms etc..) at a good price. Also any recommendations on steering and such if I want to run 35s and eventually 37s.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
Cheers,
Matt.

MetalCloak, Rock Krawler, Synergy, AEV, Teraflex. Lots of happy customers with them all. Joints vary, coil rates vary, shock rates vary, specific components vary - so do a little reading on each. There are a ton of threads about these, as well as many others, so you will have no shortage of opinions.
You will also want to rear through a few threads on front housing reinforcement. And since you asked about steering components, read through a few threads on flips/high steers, since you will be in the height range and will want components that work together. And rim size/ backspace, since that can affect the choice of steering components and/or brake upgrades. And ...
And if you haven't opened the two threads stuck to the top of this modified section, you might spend a few minutes reading them.

A 3"-3.5" complete lift that takes abuse, handles good on road, addresses steering, that doesn't cost thousands does not exist. You might as well ask for a 7.4 hemi swap for under $2k as well.
Read the stickies, come up with a budget, determine the tire size you want, and then you can plan a lift to fit your needs.
Once you hit that 3.5" lift ( which will likely be 4"+ depending on your weight) figure on replacing just about everything under the jeep in the suspension and steering plus at some point a couple of driveshafts and maybe a new exhaust.

I will add this.
I started out with a Teraflex 3" for my 2 door. Then added 35" tires. Wheeled if for 2 years adding stuff here and there such as armor, truss, regear, control arms, etc now am switching to different coils and focusing on steering geometry
My point is you don't need to spend thousands all at once. Just build it step by step and have a plan/strategy. In the end your going to spend thousands and while you will be happy with it it will never really stop.

Im in the same boat. I just got my 2014 JKU. Im looking for a 3-3.5" lift. My only issue is I want the bastard to fit in the garage after Im dkne with it. That being said, I loved my teraflex lift in my old jeep. I had zero issues with it. I did have an issue with death wobble after a year of running a 2.5" with 34's on a stock sahara. I would definitely get a lift with control arms and new front track bar adjustment. I ran a dual steering stabalizer on my old jeep. Basically you could still tell the wobble was there, it just masked the issue. If you jack up your steering and dont install properly your going to absolutely hate it. I would get those basic things and make sure it drives smooth. As long as its safe and smooth, theres not much more you can ask for. Im far from an expert, just my past experiences.
