Default Now is the time

After a few months of looking around and with my deployment to Iraq coming to an end very soon I have come up with my list of modifications I will be doing to my Jeep when I return.

Lift- TeraFlex 4" suspension system w/ full flex arms
Front Bumper- LoD Signature Series Mid-Width w/ skid plate
Rear Bumper- LoD Signature Series Bumper w/ Gen2 Tire Carrier
Wheels- Pro Comp 7089
Tires- BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 37X12.50 R17
Gears-?
Front and Rear Drive Shafts-?

I already have a Warn 9.5 TI winch, exterior lights, Hi-Jack Lift, and CB equipment that I took off my TJ before I sold it.

I am still not sure about the drive shafts and the gears. I will have to look into this alittle bit more before I head back to the states.

As for rims, is it better to get 17x8 or 17x9?

Is there anything that I am missing to make this complete? Also, where can I get the best deal on the products listed above.

I own a 2008 Unlimited Rubicon, 6 Speed.

Also, I will be moving to Lower Alabama when I return. Does anyone know of a good shop to help me with my jeep.

Thanks for all the advise.

First, let me say... WELCOME HOME!!! and Thank You for you're serving so we can have our freedoms to play with our toys!!!
Now, it sounds to me that you are going to have a pretty sweet rig!
As far as anything else... Maybe 5:38 gears, Tom Woods 1310 drive shafts, and a front adjustable track bar with a better bracket. other than that, the sky is the limit!
shop around, don't spend you're hard earned $$$ at the first store that pops up! do some looking around, a little comparing can save you a few bucks, I just bought a couple of wheels at JEGS, saved about 10$ per wheel over what other stores had, and had free shipping!!!! so don't be affraid to shop off the beaten path....

with 12.50 wide tires, i would recommend getting 17x8's as they will hold your bead better when aired down. but, if you can only find 9 in the wheel you want, that'll be fine too.

looks like you got your bases covered and as mentioned, discount tire is a sponsor here as well as northridge4x4 and both will be able to help you out.

is there any way i can convince you to do the work yourself? it really isn't so bad and for the cost to have someone else do the install, you can get all the tools you need and have quite a bit of money left over. here is a link to a write-up that i did for this lift....

I will be doing most of the installation myself. I might just need some help on the gears and shafts. Also is there welding involved with this lift kit. If so I do not have a welder. I have been looking at the write up that you did for this left. I will be using this as my reference. Thanks for the help.

1st, congrats on seeing the light at the end of your deployment! Done that myself....nothing better than coming home after 12-15 months of suck Nice to have the mod $$ from the time in the sandbox too!

I'd be looking at gears in the 5.xx range (possibly 5.38's?) With 4" lift, I think you're on track looking at aftermarket driveshaft as well.

I don't have any experience w/ shops in lower 'Bama, but if you're heading for Fort Rucker, their auto hobby shop is cool as hell and will let you do all the work w/out drama. I've dealt with them over the years and they are very supportive when it comes to modding vehicles.

BTW, if you PM me I can refer you to a transmission shop in Enterprise, Alabama that does an excellent job installing gears.
