Default o8 Jeep Rubicon life time warranty ????

Not sure wether this should go under stock or not as it concerns mods made to the jeep, The question is if I put 35 inch tires on it and re-gear would that void my life time warranty? The life time warranty as i found it on chryslers website means 99 years. So I could in theory run through 3 or 4 engines and transmissions.. When asked my dealer about it the service manager said he did not think that it would void the warranty so long the dealer did the install and used mopar parts. he seemed to want the warranty to be voided. I already have 101k miles on my jeep.

So any of you with the 08 ( I think that is the only year that the warranty is lifetime ( take that Hundai)) have you had an issue with this before.
Are there actual dealer reps on this site who can answer this question ?
Has anyone who has had gears done by other than the dealer had their warranties voided ?

I haven't really wanted to re-gear. The 4:10's works for me on highway with 35's. Maybe in the back of my mind the life time warranty's there. I put different dif covers on it and I'm afraid that's going to start raising questions if they don't have the right allen wrench

Depends on what the problem is, what caused the problem (check the oil regularly!), your service records, whether you are the original owner, whether you keep up on the 5-year warranty check-ups, the specific dealership you go to, how much you are willing to fight it if you get denied, etc, etc, etc.

I have an 08 JKUR and have put a Prorock 44 in front, regeared to 5.38's, 37" tires and 4.5" long arm. I went into my dealership for the 5 yr checkup to make sure the lifetime warranty would still continue. My dealer replaced my pinion seals on both axles (one is non-factory) for free and said my warranty is good to go. From what I have heard from others their dealers were not as accommodating.

dealer cant tell if you regear by looking at the outside. no reason for them to look inside at gears for the 5 year insp. However, i would keep in
mind that if a problem occurs with the powertrain and they find gearing different than noted on the build sheet warranty might very well get voided
since that would be a major part of the warranty. As stated by others dealership sometimes plays a big part. Just my opinion though.

Most people that regear change out the driveshaft to a stronger u-joint drive shaft. That would be obvious some work has been done and most dealerships wouldn't go any further.

Mine is gone. They canx it during my 5 year inspection. Aftermarket diff covers, 5.13 gears, TW drivelines, were all enough for them to note during the inspection and not look at anything else. BL, my dealer wouldn't touch it because of the aftermarket. Honestly, no real worries from me.

The aftermarket alone should not void warranties. The dealership has to provide proof/cause to show the aftermarket caused/contributed to the failure of the OEM parts under warranty. This isn't difficult for them, and really depends on the dealership on their interpretation and if they'll play ball with you, but it's usually as simple as saying the vehicle wasn't designed for XYZ and was modified from its stock mechanical specifications.

Also, the dealership doing the install is BS. They will only warranty the work at THAT dealership afterwards. If you're ever on a roadtrip or move or they close, you're SOL anyway, I'd do it myself or go somewhere cheaper than the dealer.
