Question Off Road Evolution EVO Coilover Install???

Has anyone had their EVO coilovers (front, rear, both) installed by someone other than Off Road Evolution? If so, wondering how everything worked out in terms of the install (ease, complications, problems/issues, directions-instructions) including any "follow-up" adjustments, tweaks, tuning.

In other words (for those of us who don't live in California and don't want to necessarily ship our JKs to California), is the EVO kit straightforward enough that any 'ol 4x4 shop with a modicum of welding prowess could install without issue? Anyone do the install themselves?

Fantastic success stories, disasters, words of wisdom/tips-hints/warnings welcome. Thanks.

I know EVO has several "authorized" installers around. Screaming lizards customs is one but, I think they are out of Texas. Contact EVO directly to see if there is a shop close to you.

If you would like to travel up to NY our shop installs just about anything! But, I believe EVO has a place in the Carolinas..

Low Range 4x4 in Wilmington, NC. They're install prices seemed pretty good. It's still a pretty good trek from Huntsville.

I did - Mel recommended a national champion welder about an hour South of me, but a friend recently visited the shop and wasn't overly impressed with the wrenching associates working for the guy. Owner seemed like a great guy, but it's the help you have to fret over.

So the question is, do I take my JK plus $10,000 worth of coilovers, axles, shafts, knuckles, gears, etc to a shop I know hardly anything about and turn them loose on it for two or three days? Who else has done this with their EVO coilover kit, and what were the results?

May be a possibility, but you're right about the trek. Would like to avoid a long distance "relationship" for the install if possible - that's why I'm interested in hearing about "local" installs. Considering the dearth of information re the latter on the forum, my current impression, right or wrong, is that this kit is extremely complicated, and only installable by a small elite handful of off-road specialty shops in the country. So frustrating as I'd really like to purchase this kit.

Anyone out there with personal install experience relative to the EVO coilover kit?
