Default Off Road Seatbelts

I have been thinking of installing these. Has anyone done this? Or any ideas?

i have already come up with a way to fabricate the seats. Just wondering on how to bolt them down. Wonder if I can use the bolts that hold the seat down ???

why? i've never seen the point of multi-point seat belts in an off road rig. a race car, sure, but not in a rig. i like sticking my head out the window and seening where my wheels are going and if the door isn't there, i pratically lean my whole body out the side. i wear the lower part of the seat belt to keep me from bounching around and to keep me in if i ever happen to roll it.

but if you really want one like that, i think you're going to need to upgrade the seats first.

I have seen them in a few crawlers. Kinda like the look and also a nice safety add on. Plus I need a new project to work on.

They are a bit of at PITA to get hooked up and into. Something I wouldn't want to deal with when wheeling. Like I said, my son uses it for auto-cross, which makes sense because he needs to hit turns fast and not get thrown around doing it. But for off-road use, it would be more of a hindrance.
I thought auto cross was Dirt Bikes and 4 wheelers?

If you like that ability and want a harness look into Schroth Auto Controls. I still have a set from one of my old cars. They are a 3 point harness. Connect on either side of the seat and a single point behind your head. They work on power and a pendulum and have a retractor. You connect power and ground to the retractor pendulum. When the vehicle has power you can move freely in the harness like your stock belts. If you hammer the breaks, the pendulum moves and breaks the circuit, cutting power to the retractor. This causes an automatic lock up and believe me, you can't budge in these things. They're nice for those who want to keep some of the comforts but have a more secure restraining system.

There is a single clip on the lap belt so they make entering and exiting very simple. Perfect for off-road. Your biggest problem to solve is getting the center point through the head rest. You could probably have an access hole built into the seat.

These are mine:

Here's a picture with the retractor connected:

Auto X - Think big, open parking lots and lots of orange cones. They host it at FedEx Field regularly. Definitely fun.

Very nice N2rock. I'm a Mazda fan myself. Have a Protege 5 and a '90 RX-7 Turbo II sitting in the driveway. The TII is for sale though .
