Default Off-set rims?

I have 33's (285-75-16)
Do I have to do a -12 offset or can I just use 0offset rims.

Offset uses rim width in the calculation of how far into or out of the wheel wells they sit, soooo, what rim width are you looking at?

I'm not sure what you mean, I have 33's that are 285/75/16 and the rims need to be -12 offset so they don't rub.

-6 offset, 285/75R16 Level 8. No rubbing here. Pic is before any lift

Offset is a calculation. Rim width is used in that calculation. Most of the lift mfg's will specify a Backspace number, since it is easier to understand. (stock rims are around 6-6.25" backspace. As that number goes down, the rim moves further out. A 4.5" backspace is the general recommendation for 35x12.50's)

-12 offset on a 7" wide rim = 3.5" backspace
-12 offset on a 8" wide rim = 4.0" backspace
-12 offset on a 9" wide rim = 4.5" backspace
-12 offset on a 10" wide rim = 5.0" backspace

Mine sit out a lot farther. My wheels are 8.5" wide. I think -6 is like is 4.25 or 4.5" backspacing.

@thatmotokid
Check out the following links to educate yourself on wheel offsets.

Wheel Offset Calculator

HubGarage.com - Custom Wheel Offset Chart Photos

When I first bought my Jeep I threw on some 20x10" KMC Rockstars & 35x12.5" Nitto Mud Grapplers simply because I liked the look. They had a -24mm offset but I had no idea what that meant at the time. After driving around with them for a while I realized I didn't like the fact that they stuck out passed the stock fender flares. I wanted to change them out but was afraid of ordering the wrong wheels. I was looking for a wheel and tire setup that would fit perfect at the stock fender flares as I prefer a "stock" look. After doing extensive homework with the links above I ended up ordering the same KMC Rockstars but this time the one's with the 8.5" width and the +10mm offset. That with the my 37x12.5" Toyo's gave me the exact fit I was looking for where the tires line up with the stock fender flares.

So the magic formula for this look would be a wheel,regardless of diameter, with a 8.5" width and a +10mm offset. You can also go with a 9.0" width with a 0 offset but both with a tire, regardless of diameter, with a 12.5" width. I lot of homework went into understanding all of this and I still don't get it
