This question is asked a lot. I too was concerned when I bought the 18x9 rims. The fact is there are two things that affect how far the tire sticks out. Its is the offset but it also has to do with the real width of the tire. Even though tires are advertised as 12.5 inches wide in reality they are not. all things being equal a 4.5 BS will stick out further than a 4.75 or 5. I went with the 5 and love how my duratracs look. Your best bet is to find someone who has the exact BS and tire combo you are looking at and ask them.
