Default oil filter fram PH3600

Biger than stock, more oil, more filter media, beter for your jeep PH3600 FRAM oil filter. JUST BE SHURE TO PREE FILL YOUR FILTER BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT!! You will need jus a bit more oil to add to your oil pan becouse of the filter holds more oil
I was at the dealership and seen some longer filters and asked and they said it would work for the JK. The filter is origanaly for the PT cruiser one is for the turbo and the other is for the nonturbo short and long filter . The short filter is also the factory JK filter. The long filter works on the Jk Wrangler witch is good becouse bigger is better ,more oil capacity, more filter capicity, more cooling serface on the filter. I went to autozone and had the PT Cruiser filter cross referanced and it is a PH 3600.

Wow Robar, 3 minute response time

Anyhoo, I have been using the Mobil One M1-209. Are all those in the right column of your list the same size as that?

I have had that info for over a year or so.

I am not sure of the exact capacity, but they are the equivalent fit, oversize filter, for each brand.

I have the Fram TG3600 and found that it really didn't add that much more oil capacity to my engine. Nothing that would have benefitted it at all anyways. How are you guys pre-filling the filter before putting it on since it mounts horizontally?

I had the same question.

...plus, why would you need to pre-fill it, if the system will pressurize and fill the filter within seconds of start-up...?

may be a stupid question, but what benefits does the oversize filter have vs the regular size?

as a rule of thumb my auto teacher in HS always told us to put a little oil into the filter. i think it had to do with making up for the loss of filtered oil from when you remove the old filter, with oil in the filter it immediately goes back into the engine, rather than having to wait for oil to come in go through the filter and then back in. im sure it doesn't matter that much, like you said the oil is pressurized instantaneously anyway. i dunno just habit now i guess

I would guess its was a old thing to do with oil preassure not being as high as new motor have they and it also reminded people to lube the o ring on the filter
