Default Oil Pan Skid..?

I have an 08 X and wanted to get a skid plate for the oil pan sometime soon. That's the only area that I see where it is the most vulnerable right now. Anyone bought one or know where to get a good price on one?

Rockhard makes an oilpan/tranny skid. It's a nice plate, I'm still trying to get around to installing mine.

I read in the Wrangler brochure that the oil pan is aluminum with a 1/4" steel bottom to protect from rock bangers.

Usgaone busted his before. I think he only paid around $45 for a replacement. They had to order it from the collision catalog to get just the lower piece though.

Its alot cheaper then the skids, but with my luck I'll bust it on the trail and get stranded or not realize it and seize my motor. But thats my luck....

Skid row skid plate from Quardatec is awsome and been holding up to RubyDoo's antics, cost was about 275 as well.

It looks like the skid row plate covers a lot more areas as well.....so, it will do more than just protect the oil pan.

I've seen glue on jobs that fall off when you hit something, the trails are littered with them, i forget who makes them, maybe Rancho? Anyway - they seem to be garbage.

I like skid row's stuff, had it on the X and TJ...holds up to the abuse, does the job, tough powder coat, no rust, and I've never actually touched up a skid plate in my life...it just seem silly to paint he bottom of a jeep that I'm gong to scrape across rocks.

The rock hard stuff looks good too, but I've not seen it in person, and it looks like it covers a smaller area in the pics....for the same money as fuller coverage, etc.

Skid row sucks!!!
It can come into contact with your front drive shaft based on your spring configuration.
Mine did and got rid of it!!
I purchased the Rock hard one and have had no issues.
