Default Oil seperator

Was courious if any one made an oil seperator for the penstar. I was reading in the other forums with vehicals with penstar and they have oil separator and collect a good amount of oil. Was going to fab one up from a jlt general kit but I thought I would check her first. Thanks Doug.

Oil vapors are drawn from the crankcase into the intake to be burned. (Positive crankcase ventilation system)
People have installed oil separators to catch the oil before it goes into the intake.

The pentastar has a camshaft-driven centrifuge to separate oil. Allowing for a smaller PCV system. Still, folks are fabbing there own on various dodge forums.

For example

Can you direct me to a site that covers that in the Jeep JK? There is no mention of it in the 2012 JK service manual.

It's after market. Typically used on hot rods. But keeping oil out of intake is the purpose. I have seen on the other forums guys getting an inch of oil a month. All that oil causes a mess in the inyake system, can cause performance issues and knock. Never really thought about it on my jeep untill I read the other forums with penstars. Think I am going to fab up a JLT system. It made a huge differance on my lightning. First time I took blower off with out it the valley was a mess and the cooler. Second time looked brand new. I am a believer in their utility.

I've only read about it from the charger forum linked above. Seems to originate (judging by the language) from:
http://blog.caranddriver.com/we-buil...rs-new-engine/

But I haven't come across any specific JK wrangler references.

[QUOTE=Jiblet;3959752]I've only read about it from the charger forum linked above. Seems to originate (judging by the language) from:
We Build a Pentastar V-6 to Learn More About Chrysler’s New Engine | Car and Driver Blog

I just found a vague reference to it in the 2012 JK service manual. Thanks for bringing it up.

Not sure what you are asking. All emission laws have new motors recycling the vapors which loads the intake up with oil then the oil goes down into motor and over time it can cause the monitor to not be as efficant and cream sludgy mess in the intake manifold valley. Seen it first hand. My lightning was a mess until like put catch can on. I know this isnt a high performance motor but keeping oil out of intake system will allow the motor to run more efficant. Over time it can cause the motor to pull trimming due to possible knock. Now I realize this isn't a hot rod but my perspective is any time you can keep oil out of intake system it's a good thing. I am going to get a universal jolt can and fab up bracket. The charger/challenger are seeing the catch cans picking up a lot of oil. It isn't news scary, more of a preventative/efficacy mod. Here is example from the grand Cherokee penstar. Here is a good link http://www.chargerforumz.com/showthread.php?t=156256

Here is a good link regarding install. Just need to figure out good mounting point on jk
