So I bought a new gas cap cover one with a door. Ok there is 4 tabs that hold in the stock one I can fit my fat hand to release two of the tabs but the other two are one the front side and I can not find a way to release them any sugestion would be appreciated.

I had the same trouble, but for some reason, can't remember how. Sorry.

I am going to assume that you are accessing it thru the opening after removing the tail/brake light assembly. If so see if using a flathead screw driver will help reach that tight spot. Other then that find someone with smaller hands to help. Hope you get it worked out....

I had the same problem with installing mine. I ended up releasing the 2 tabs that I could reach through the tail light hole. Next I pushed the rubber gasket down the filler neck. that will give you enough play to get the 2 inside tabs to come loose.

 

Nice find, all that is needed after undoing the two closest tabs and popping it out is to pull the assembly towards you...
