I was looking at these yesterday on 4wd.com and I did see one picture that showed the brackets going up under the doors. I was a little confused because it seemed like the same part description but with a different picture than the others. Anyway if you want to see another pic you might check there.

Yeah I've seen that pic as well, didn't realize they would be rubbing the door bottom, which does indeed suck, though not too bad if you have doors off/tube doors.

I ended up going with the Rugged Ridge ones that mount using the frame body mounts, vs just bolting to the body.

I just called Olympic and they said that you don't NEED to put the door sill brackets on if you are not doing hard core off roading. You can just mount them to the pinch seam. THe door sill brackets avoid having to drill

I am really contemplating whether I should return them or not???

well, I ended up installing them with the door brackets. After tightening them all up and adjusting the brackets it looks good and the brackets DO NOT hit the bottom of my door - at least not the rear doors since I have the front doors off (trick is to push the bracket all the way down so that it is flush with the bottom of the door jam and then tighten).

I like em

Here are some pics:

I returned mine. They just didn't seem like they would protect the jeep well enough. While they are heavy and seem well made, I did not like that they only attached to the body and did not tie into the frame. I'm having a set fab'ed next week that will be welded to the frame and provide some serious protection. The cost for the fab'ed set will be about the same at the Olympic.

I have em' and no issues for me. I found that if you install these correctly, it shouldn't rub on your doors. I basically put all the bolts in first, then I used a hi-lift to level them out, push down on the door brackets and tightened them, then tightened the bottom bolts.

They're basically like the rubi rails with tubes but tougher in IMO, I like them because there's no additional drilling and will not effect most long arm lift kits that I may decide to do in the future.

Ofcourse, if you're hardcore...I recommend to go with something else. Which most will require additional drilling or would not allow long arm kits in some cases. (i.e. I believe, shrockwork rails for instance...but I could be wrong)

Default Leave off the door sill brackets?

Hi everyone, good thread.
I just got a set of these and opened the package and BAM! Door sill brackets. Hmmmm. Didn't see that on the photo when I ordered them, ok checked again, nope... not in the photo. So I started to search this on here...

Earlier it was said the bracket was for hard-core wheeling and could be left off. I Called Olympic 4x4 (Got a live person with product knowledge right away.) they said the door sill brackets are there to support pressure from top of rail (ie. standing on or using as step) to take the pressure off of the pinch seam.

Edit
There were two passenger side rails in the box, no driver's side!

I'm sending them back and waiting for the Mopar enhanced Rock Rails.
