Default OME & extended bump stops?

I am about to start installing my OME HD lift. Once installed, I will be getting some 35x1250 KM2s.
A bunch of people tell me I dont need extended bump stops with this lift. But it seems to me, if one of these coils compresses to the OE stops, one of these 35s are going to get stuffed into the fenders.

Should I get some extended bump stops? Or, is this just not a problem?

OME developed their shocks to be limiters, so bump stops should not be needed.

So far both of your replies are incorrect . From numbers given here on the board, allegedly the OME shocks are shorter than stock shocks compressed, so the factory bump stops will still stop upward travel. My measurements on a stock Jeep say 35s will hit plenty.

You will need bump stops.

Your 35s will also hit other things, so wheels or spacers are also required.

I heard of shocks, which have special, smooth stops when extending, but not when compressed ... Then, the factory shock mounts would have to take the hole energy when going on the shock-bump-stop which they are not designed for.

I think it's who you buy them from. Mine came with stops for the rear and a track bar relocation bracket.

Picture of a guy with 33's and stock bumpstops in the front.

Either the bump stops stop the upward travel with 35s, something else stops it, or it hits.

Let me say this, it is my understanding that ARB designed the OME shocks to work as limiting straps to prevent damage to the brake lines or the springs just falling out during a flex. However I am planning to extend my brake line bracket down, because at full flex the brake lines do get tight. It is also my understanding that the OME coils are designed not to over compress eliminating a need (IMO) for bump stops. I have had limited chances to work out my suspension since I got the KM2s, but I have had it at full flex, with front sway bar disconnected, and did not notice any rubbing. I will also add, that my wheels have 5" of backspacing which is about 1 1/2" less than the stock wheels.
I am very happy with the performance and ride of the OME lift that I have. I would also recommend front and rear adjustable track bars to recenter the axles after the lift.

If "OME coils are designed not to over compress", this does not necessarily eliminate the need for an extended bump stop. This eliminates the need for an extension to avoid over compressing, but not for larger tire rubbing.

I have some 2" bump stop extensions. I am inclined to error on the side of caution and install them.
