OME HD in front and standard in rear?
I originally installed OME standard springs in the front and rear. I had no intentions of a heavy front bumper and winch in the front. I then got a winch on a plate on the factory bumper. Had to get a 1 inch spacer to level it out. I just recently came across an ARB front bumper for a really good price that I couldn't pass on. I installed it today, and now the front is 3/4 inch lower than rear even with the 1 inch spacer. Rather than install a 1 3/4 inch spacer, maybe I should switch to HD springs in the front with no spacer, and stay with the standard in the rear. Anyone have this set up? Would it sit level or would it be nose high? Opinions and experiences wanted! Pics if you've got them. Thanks!
I run HD coils front and rear. After Installing my front bumper and winch and giving the lift 2 months to settle, the front sat a little low for my taste. I put a 1" spacer in and it rides at the stock rake.
Now the rear is another story and has gotten me a reputation for 3 wheeling my rig when going down hill. The reason being my rear coils are way too stiff and all the weight is in the front of my Jeep. I run with no back seat in my 2 door and a factory rear bumper. The rear also bucks over bumps at speed. I have a very heavy bumper with tire carrier picked out after I complete my axle work soon.
If I wasn't planning on very heavy bumpers, I would have gone with lighter coils purely for a better ride and used spacers to tune the lift to where I want it.
