Default OME install question......

I will be putting this on this weekend, weather permitting. My neighbor told me he has a coil spring compressor. Will I still need to take off the Sway bar links and track bar?

I also got a set of skyjacker bumpstop extensions, (I know they say you don't need them, call me a pessimist) the kit ordered was suppose to be a complete kit for a 2008, but the kit only has rear bump stops. Should I worry about the front?

Thanks for any input......

I'm out of town this weekend otherwise, I would offer to come and help as I am looking to do the OME kite myself.

If it were not for the fact that I feel like the kid that got a sled for Christmas but it didn't snow ......I'd wait till you could help. Thanks for the offer though I appreciate it.

Congrats

You should not need to disconnect the sway bar links or track bar, but you might find that i'll be easier just to go ahead and do it. Just watch out for you brake lines and parking brake lines. I had to drop those down, but i did not have a coil spring compressor either.

Good Luck! You'll really like it!

Thanks, looking forward to it. Did you put on some bump stops? Should I be worried that I only have rear ones?

No I didn't add any...I imagine that OME would have added some if they thought it was necessary, I'm gonna trust them on that one.

My installer is concerned that the added lift to the OME might stress the driveshaft etc. He is reccomending a more consrvative BB. Do you guys think OME has researched this stress as compared to bigger lifts that have more components?

Any answers here would be appreciated as I have to make a decision tomorrow.

He is not that familliar with the OME kit and has installed either BB kits or kits that have many components over the years. He is concerned with the height that the OME kit offers with the JK that the lack of other components will be a problem long term.

Anythoughts

You will be fine. The stock driveshafts have been working just fine for lifts around 3".

We hear things like this all the time for differant "installers" around the country.
