Default OME Lift issues

UGH!

So after getting my JK professionally dialed in at the alignment shop, the guys (that I trust, mind you), were a bit concerned about the possibility of "bar bind" and the axels shifting (more than 1/2" in opposite directions). After getting more than 3" of lift out of the OME 2" HD kit, I think it is necessary to put it back as close to stock alignment as possible with a few different options.

I just need some help figureing out what to order since there are SOOO many options:

New front adj. trackbar @ ~$160 is the only option for up front, but

New adj. Rear trackbar @ ~$160, or can I use the cheaper Rear trackbar BRACKET?

Before I get the inevitable "You should not have to worry about that too much...", I have to point out that I have had my ESP activating now more than BEFORE I had my new wheels/tires put on and aligned and hope to keep this down to a minimum with the new axel geometry.

Any help or ideas how to spend the money to get rid of my problems?

{Yah....I will play with re-centering the steering wheels on my own once the axels are good}

Is the steering wheel centered now?

Also if you ordered the OME kit form us give me a call and I will make you a deal on the front nad rear trackbars I would avoid the brackets if at all possible.

You sound like the kind of guy that wants things "right". IMHO the adjustable track bars are a more professional (and adjustable) way to get things right.
As you pointed out, every lift yields a different amount of lift on each Jeep. A bracket, unless it is made to be somehow adjustable, has to be made for a specific amount of axle "re-centering" by moving the trackbar mounting location. So a bracket may not get you exactly re-centered. An adjustable bar can accommodate your needs even if you got a different amount of lift than specified by the bracket engineering.

I'd stick with the asjustable track bars too. Recentering the steering wheel will help with the ESP issue.

Based on my experience with that kit on an LJ, I'd go for the adjustable setup vs. the bracket. The adjustable lets you tweak it if the springs settle at all over time.

I bought this kit as I was told I would not need
to worry about any of this... Now I wonder
if I should even install the kit????

It is still sitting sealed in the box in my garage.

Couldn't say what you should do. I know I have been out with my Jeep a few times since installing OME Suspension Lift and have no worries. The suspension has been around for quite a long time for Jeeps and the company and this product have a fine reputation. As a matter of fact... I am hard-pressed to find any real complaints on failures of suspension or driveline components related exclusively to lift (not just on this site... but in 5 or 6 years of reading on-line crap about Jeeps). Components do fail... IMHO, the lift is fine for me with a bracket. I know where and what I do with my rig and I am comfortable with the decision I made. An example of what you are reading discussed is similiar to the number of people who have had their JK's bought back under Lemon Laws. I have come across at least 5 member's who have had it done... out of over 7300 member's (of which I couldn't even guess own a JK). Shit happens... it doesn't happen to everyone and not all the time.

Now... go hit a trail and enjoy the f'ing thing!

I agree w/ JDRUBI, I have the OME lift because of their reputation, and I have been using their lift ( 2") on my Defnders for 14 years- one broken shock, in Moab, which was replaced free, overnighted w/o question, and a return free shipping label, as they want to see any failures. However, I am an engineer, and was disappointed w/ the axle shift on my 4-door Rubi- visually, not functionally. So I contacted North Ridge ( where I bought the OME),who made me a great deal on the adjustable bars front and rear. As stated above, the brackets only give a correction for a given situation. If you are going to fix an issue, fix it right and be done w/ it. Just my 2 cents.

I was having issues with my ESP after my OME install. I had F/R Full Traction track bars on it. I finally resolved it with a second allignment and centering the steering wheel. Install the bars and get it aligned and centered and it will be fine.

I went ahead and installed a front and rear track bar just in case. Haven't had any problems. It was worth the money, for me, just for peice of mind. I've heard alot of stories where brackets have broken. Good luck
