Default OME LT adjustments starting point

OK, so I just got my OME LT kit from David at Northridge(thanks for the awesome service man), and I'm going to install it tomorrow. I was wondering as far as the front and rear trackbars go, where is the best place to measure as far as centering the axle? Is there a measurement eye to eye that's a good starting point? These don't look extemely easy to adjust as there is no adjustment sleeve so it looks like you have to disconnect it and unscrew it a half a turn each time to adjust. Same question goes for the adjustable upper control arms. Measurement eye to eye as a starting point? I want my caster to be where it needs to be. Also, anyone had any troubles with their wheel speed sensor harnesses being too short? I modified mine quite a bit and I got it within 1 inch of being just as long as my extended brake lines without cutting anything and there is no binding, but I'd like it to be the same. Anyone sell extensions or should I just add a little more wire? I got a Rubi as well so the front sway bar disconnect is an issue, therefore, I need the swaybar to be at exactly the same angle as stock to work. Would it be right to measure between the sway bar and the frame while on the ground and then install the adjustable sway bar links to achieve the same measurement? I was just kind of assuming that everything would have adjustable sleeves in which this process would be alot easier! Springs and shocks will be very easy, but these adjustments look like they will take longer than anything. Thanks for the help!

I hope this will help. Myself trying to measure for your track bar adjustment is tricky, JKS tells you to measure off a lug of your tire on one side and do the same for the other and make the adjustment so that both are the same distance from the frame and tire on both sides. I'm not sure which springs you are using I used HD on mine and it has almost a 3" lift , my track bars are adjusted about a 1/2" longer than the stock bar, so your track bar shold be between a 1/4" to a 1/2" longer than stock. Also your caster and driveshaft alignment is going to be different, down the road you should get upper and lower adjustable arms so you can set everything back where it should be. On mine I still have to do this but it is driveable the main thing I really need is the front driveshaft I'm sure on the down travel it's not good for clearance on the trans skid. I hope some of this will help and hopefully others will have more help for you on this!

You may get more responses if you posed fewer questions at once? On the track bars, just make sure you measure at the same point on both sides. I simply measured from the inside of each tire to the outside of the JK frame. Or you can take a level and hold it to the outside of your tire and measure to the fender on each side? Once you get your axle centered you just have to set your track bar adjustment and install.

On the front lower adj control arms, 23" eye to eye should set you where you need to be.

Don't know about speed sensors.....I don't have them.

Your sway bar disco will work as long as your sway bar is parallel with the ground with all of the weight on the JK.

That will work fine. That is what I did. I got the adj Currie links for the rear and moved the rears to the front. With the Curries, you can set the passenger side a little longer to take the lean out of the JK.

Hi husker_shoe,

I agree with moving the OEM rear swaybar links to the front. The kit I bought provided adjustable swaybar links for the front and rear. The rears worked great; but, I wasn't comfortable with the fronts because the threaded rod was too long. Moving the rears to the front placed the swaybar just about horizontal with full load on the JK.

I'll provide more details of my install later today if it would be helpful. It seems like this weekend, and next, are the magic install dates for a lot of folks here.

I'll watch the board this weekend, too, in case I can be of any help to anyone installing their kits. I'm not a seasoned expert; but, I learned a lot with my install.

Thanks man! Ya, I'm going to try for it this today if I get some time at work, but we're in the middle of a big snowstorm and there is only 2 weeks left of the ski season so it will be hard to turn down a powder day. If there's something worth doing it for though, this is it
