Default OME LT vs Teraflex 2.5 coil

Looking for a little advice. I've got an 08 sahara, auto. Putting a PSC brawler lite and winch on next week (hurry up powder coaters) and have been worried about the front sagging under the new weight.

Sold myself on the OME LT kit from Northridge, but beginning to think it's overkill. 80% on road, no mud, 20% rocks when I'm not working. Want to do 35-ish tires, don't want to regear for now.

Can I slide by on the 2.5 without getting discos and a trackbar, or should I pull the trigger on the OME?

They will give you about the same lift height - appx 3 inches. So your choice is 'complete' or incomplete and add components as you go. Can you get by without trackbars? Sure, if having the axles offset doesn't bug you. Can you get by without adj control arms? Sure, if flighty on-road handling doesn't bug you. Can you get by without extended links? Sure, but please post pics when your swaybar flips around backwards!

The components are personal opinion and preference. You have to decide what you need...

Agreed!
To the OP, keep in mind that you can always buy the less complete kit, and then add on other components that you think are lacking.

I went with the 3.25" RC lift, and it lacked a lot of components. I purchased a JKS adjustable front track bar, as one such example, to make my setup a little more complete.

get the TF 2.5 coil kit. it fits 35s, rides like stock, wheels great, and everything you need is in the kit. no DS issues, no steering issues, no dash lights.... feel free to add to the kit, if you have money to waste!

Trust me get the OME with HD coils. The Ride is better than stock and if you get the complete kit from northridge it is not overkill it just gives you everything you need. I recently helped another forum member put the ome lift on his jeep but he elected to piece it out and get the control arms, brake lines, and a couple other things at a later time. He has been having alignment and flighty steering issues. The jeep is his daily driver and he can't wait to get the control arms done.

Just remember,
You get what you pay for! and Do it right the first time! If its a money issue you are better off waiting and buying a complete kit.

Not to mention the more than complete write up / Install instructions on the Main JK page.

On the OME LT... Did you replace your front shaft? Dave (at Northridge) recommended this.

Read about folks changing the rear shaft also, but not on the OME LT... Am i missing something?

NO I haven't yet. That will be once I tear the boot on the oem one. I have had it wheeling about 4 times and haven't had any issues. I think it is only the front shaft on the JKU and the rear on the 2 dr.

-Auto's will have issues with the big boot on the front shaft contacting the corner of the tranny pan.
-All may have issues with the joint at the tcase end of the front shaft due to the lift height and new driveshaft angles.
-2doors may have issues with the angles on the rear shaft.
-4doors 'should not' have issues with the rear shaft.

Keep in mind that opinions on the way a lift rides are subjective. I have the TF with arms and track bars and it rides nowhere near stock its by no means unbearable but its not stock. Previously I had a Daystar leveing kit on the Jeep and I was pretty disapointed in how harsh the ride was after installing the TF kit when I was expecting a stockish ride. If I were to do it over I would go with the OME LT from northridge with AEV brackets. Our Jeep is a 80/20 wheeler and the loss of 2" of control arm clearance would be a small price to pay for a better ride. I will say that off road the TF kit works perfectly, it's complete and easy to install.
