Default OME Shocks: LT or regular?

I was wondering what is the difference between the LT vs the regular OME shock?
I know one is long travel, but I'm looking for a little more explanation, I guess. Like, do you need any other gear (spring retainers, different bumpstops, etc.) to install the LT shock? Does it increase vertical travel (droop)?
Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

they are the same shock only the LT is just that, "long travel". in other words, you should only use it on a jeep that has been lifted about 3"-4". if you were to install them on a stock - 2" lifted jeep, you would most likely bottom out the shocks.

Thanks, WOL!

So, which is "better", or is better relative to the application?
I have 3" teraflex springs on my frankenlift, but I have lots of gear, so I'm not sure what my actual net lift is. I'm guessing 2.5 - 3 inches. Would standard travel be better for me?

no. i would get the LT shocks. the TF coils tend to sit tall and even with your gear, i'd be willing to bet you are still sitting at about 3"

As long as you have at least 2" bump stops you should not bottom them out. If not, you will still bottom them out no mater what springs you have, unless you're coils are being over compressed. If that is the case you need to add bump stops anyway.
