Default onboard air system

look at Viair system. think of going with 450c (100% duty) pump, 2.5 gl tank ete. look for air supply that can be anytime, run air tool on the trail and fill tire fast
? 1 who have this setup, how do you like it
? 2 is a less $$$ way to go

I have the 450C and I love it for airing up tires. It will just keep going and going.

It would not do a very good job of running airtools. Maybe with a bigger tank, but I doubt it. I think Viair reccommends using twin 450C's to run airtools

Is there an onboard air system on the market that is 100% duty cycle that will run air tools?

The only ones I have seen are the Viair twin 450C setup or a York belt drive setup like the one River Raider makes.

I would think if you lost a belt you would have bigger issues than your OBA since you wouldn't have any accesories running. As far as an electrical connections failing on a belt drive I would think there would be less chance than with an electric compressor since there is a lot less electronics involved, otherwise any electrical connection has an equal chance of failing if they are off done exactly the same.

I have the Viair 450c and love it. I haven't tried to use it with air tools, so I am no help there.
