Any body added an onboard welder? If so where under the hood is the best spot and any install tricks to look out for?

I don't think my mig 210 will fit under my hood. might have to pull a trailer.

I carry a ready welder. 2 - 12 volt batteries and you can weld 1/4 steel.

Also with batteries. Use 3 or 4 together and you can do most welding required on trail if something breaks up and help is too far.

Ive used a ready welder before, they arnt that expensive and you can weld good enough to get yourself home.........

The ready welder in the hands of the capable can produce permenent quality welds. It is a mig spool gun configuration. I have welded with 24volt (2batteries) several times on the trail. THe last time we welded a broken sector shaft and drove off the trail. DISCLAIMER dont drive a welded sector shaft on the road. 24 volt will do anything you need on a jeep. Add a nice little die grinder to the toolbag and you will be be anxiously awaiting your next trail weld. JP
