Opinion needed
Hey guys,
Just needed a quick opinion or two on what would be the best thing to do. Here's the background. Recently got my 16x8 RCX Black Steel Wheels and had a buddy that got a Rough Country franchise order these. Told him I'd need 16x8s, 5x5 Bolt Pattern and 4.25BS or better, and I got the setup I have now. Got Hankook DynaPro M/T 315/75R16s to go on these, had our local Goodyear store mount and balance them and told them to take the 1.5" RC Spacers I was running for the stock wheels off. Well, come to find out, the wheels I got had the wrong backspacing [and I have no clue what the BS is on these wheels 'coz the box showed no information]
. Long story short, the wheels rubbed but were ok with the spacers on. And it looks good with a wider stance.
Now, here's my worry. These tires weigh a ton, and I had never really been a fan of running spacers and worry that with the added weight and having to run spacers, would it put undue stress on the axle and components? Or am I worrying about nothing? My buddy that ordered the wheels for me said he'd buy the wheels back for what I paid for them if I wanted to go with different wheels.
Figured, I'd take some opinions from people that have run this type of a setup and see if I should return the wheels, get me another set of wheels with the right backspacing and toss the spacers? Or would I be fine with the spacers and the current setup
? I'm getting ready to order some EVO gussets soon regardless.

If you have the option, don't think twice about getting the new rims. Just do it. And make sure you get the right BS this time...
I guess you'll be out a bit more money having the new rims swapped onto the tires, but worth it for not having to run spacers.
There is a pic in the faq that will help you figure out the backspace on those rims, if you're interested in finding out.

Thanks for the input guys
. That's the direction I was leaning toward but just wanted to double check to make sure that it's a better option to return the wheels and get the right backspacing and get rid of the spacers rather than leave it the way it is.
Not sure if these are the same wheels; if these wheels had 4 1/2" BS or lower, I shouldn't have had any rub on the calipers, but it rubs just a little. I'll measure the BS later when I get home based on the diagram. I have a feeling these are either 4 3/4" or 5".

Ok, have an update though I'm not sure it's any better than where I first started off with

Got the new Black Rock Wheels 16x8, 5 on 5, 4.25" Backspacing, and Tire shop just called me - they think that while these ones won't touch/rub, he's concerned that there's about 1/8th of inch clearance if that between the center of the wheel to the caliper bracket. Does this sound too close to the calipers or would I be alright running this for a while?
