Default Opinion on Shocks

I have been reading several posts on shocks, ride, on/off road etc. and it has me thinking of getting new. I have the Rough Country 2.2 performance shocks and they dont ride too bad (IMO).

Has anyone switched these to something else, if so, what?

Did it make a difference?

Thanks for your opinion.

Default Bistein 5100!

I only change from stock to BILSTEIN directly, but, my friend ride a rough country lift kit with 2.2 shocks, IMO is rough, close to stock...

The Bilstein are very smooth on road, 3x better than stock, plus in off road the ride is even better and the best off that, they are cheap in $$$

Go with Bilstein, you wont regret

I have same and hate (2.2 JUNK). I'm getting ready to do all FOX. If you want to say some cash but still gave a great shock, I would buy the Bilstein and they around $90 a shock

Agreed. Bilstein and fox are the top right now. Fox is more expensive but they both perform on and off road.

Bilstein's are good. But they are not very forgiving, atleast imo. The softest shocks while maintaining good stability are OME's by far. If you want to start spending more money then obviously there are other options, but for under $100 a shock not too many "great" options and the OME's win hands down. Bilsteins are nice and have great performance but they are a little firmer when compared to others. Just stay away from Teraflex, and RC. While some of their suspension components are great, amazing even, they both lack in quality when it comes to shocks.

I hear good reviews of OME. They say the small bumps are smoothed out more giving a plusher ride. I will try these when the time comes.
