Default Opinions please :)

hey guys,
since all my driving is in the deserts of dubai, the most important thing is low center of gravity i decided the Teraflex 2.5 lift with shocks is the way to go since it'd be better to run on 33's than on the big 35's.. i need torque for some of the big climbs anyone got pictures of the TF 2.5 lift with shocks on 33's? not the BB... and what would be the best gearing to run with for best performance...

4.10 gears should be fine with that setup, 4.88 if you want to have something that will work with 35s eventually - but if you're dead set on 33s like you say, 4.10 should be fine. you could always go in the middle with some 4.56s.

There are plenty of pics of TF BB's in the show and tell section, I recommend you do a search.

You also need to at least consider breakover angle as well which is what a lift is going to give you. You can compensate for the higher center of gravity from a taller lift with wider tires.

hmm wat would work better in terms of looks a 2.5" lift or a 3" lift on 33's? i wont be going to 35's ever... i would if u hit up trails but unfortunatly we dont have any.. i dnt quite understand how the gearing system works.. what happens wen i have higher gears like 5.13 or somethin... i want the best torque with the gears i choose on 33's... another thing is i wanted to knw wat 33" tires would be good on sand? im guessing probubly M/T but i also do alot or road driving... are there any M/T's that are ok on road? and whats the widest tyre i can get on the stock rim without it sticking out of the fenders because thats against the law here...

hi wizzo... ive been running the TF BB for a few months now and have had no problem with them.., its a good kit.. i run 4.56 gearing and 33's and the combination is perfect in my opinion, as for rims i didnt feel the need to get beadlock rims for sand so i went with procomp 7189,

Deep breath.

3 inches of lift is too much for 33s. It will make the tires look tiny. I would stick with a 2" or 2.5" lift. Did you know that 33s will fit with no lift at all? Something you might consider if a low center of gravity is what you're going for.

If you go with 5.13s/4.88s and 33" tires your Jeep will run at a higher RPM in any given gear. It will also decrease your top speed and be a bit of a dog at high RPMs -- by regearing you sacrifice high-end torque for low-end torque. You'll also get worse gas mileage, but y'all have plenty of gas over there so that's not something you need to worry about.

If you have 4.10s already, I wouldn't worry about regearing. If you have 3.21s or 3.73s you might consider regearing to 4.56s. Anything lower than that and I'm not sure how drivable your Jeep would be.

AEV beadlocks would look sharp on a Jeep built for sand. I think they only come in 17" diameter though.

A ~295 section width is the widest tire that you can run on the stock wheels without the tires sticking out past the fenders. However, that's irrelevant if you're getting new wheels, as the new wheels will have less backspacing and will push your tires out even more.

As far as sand tires, I would think you would want something with very close together tread blocks, i.e., not a mud-terrain tire. The lugs of mud tires will just dig down and get you stuck. I would suggest looking at all-terrain tires. Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ, Pro Comp ATs, etc.

I think I answered most of your questions. This might be the longest post I've ever written.

I think the 4.56's will be a good match for 33's and what you're doing wth your Jeep. The 2.5" lift should be good for you as well.

Well guyz thanks so much for ur help given me so much info! i decided its the TF 2.5" lift, i dnt think ill take the BB, ill get the lift with coils.... i really want to go with 15" rims do any of u knw if Cragar 397 Serier Black 15" wheels will fit the JK, and would the be good on sand even though its about the tire mostly... and for regearing.. i decided ill go with 4.56 gearing... i dnt want to sacrifice to much high end torque... i want a good balance, will 4.56 do that for me.. or should i go lower, what happens if i went to >5 for example...

I think that is the best choice. Given the option of using coils or spacers, I'd always choose the coils.

I think you'll be okay with 4.56s, but I'm not sure if anyone is running 33s with 4.56s. I'm running 35s with 5.13s and an automatic, so from my perspective it sounds like it would be okay.
