i happend to have two brand new blue tops land in my lap and was wondering would they work for my jeep. i realize they are for marine use but what is the difference. marine engines are the same as car engines!!!

They'd work...but they trade raw cranking power for deep cycle endurance...IE: Long distance runner vs sprinter in output.



Plenty of people do this, and if the cranking specs are sufficient to turn you over when needed, you're good to go.

I am running a Optima Blue top because I am running (6) SolTek lights and a Warn 9.5Ti winch so I wanted the "staying power". The battery has been great so far and I couldn't be happier. Also with the blue top's you get an extra set of terminals for your aftermarket add on's. You'll really like it.

Which Blue-top model? I just purchased a D34M which is identical to the Yellow-top D34/78 except for the location of the auxilliary posts (top on the Blue, side on the Yellow).
