Default Options on winches?

Can you order winches with synthetic lines ? I know a few come with them. But can you get, say a warn M8000 w/rope instead of having to take the wire off? And get the aluminum hawse instead of the roller?

I know some places offers synthetic instead of wire rope. Shrockworks, for example, has an option to replace the wire with synthetic on any winch - for a price.

I decided that I would get the synthetic in addtion to the winch. Now I have a brand-new wire rope and fairlead in reserve. I heard pros and cons for the synthetic. If I realize any of the cons (like short life), I have a backup ready to install.

I was just wondering if you could save the cost of the wire if you plan on replacing it anyway. I quess it would take more of a specialty shop like shrockworks than say quadratec for example because they may not have a use for just the wire.

Any other sponsors willing to do this?

I see from your sig you are in NC. To me, that translates to snow and salted roads. I feel like salted roads and synthetic rope are a short life combination
