Outlaw mirrors, "sick" or suckin'?
I ponied up a hunertnthirty bones yesterday for a set of American Outlaw mirrors from the Q catalog. I'm waiting for them to show up in the mail so I can see what kind of quality I get for their premium price.
My jeep doors come off in early May to mid-September. In between there the mirrors will need to hang on for about 8,000 miles. I'm wondering if they are built for that kind of daily wear and tear, or are they more suited to a mall-crawler that has their doors off one afternoon a year?
I bought a strapless Bikini top too (not for me, for the jeep.)

I got the Dietech offroad mirror relocation brackets. They were 65 dollars or something like that. and I hunted around Ebay for a wrecked JK and grabbed myself an extra set of mirrors. That's what I recommend. Those things are pretty steep.
I've just put mine on today, drove around all day in different terrains and haven't had any problems as of yet They do slightly vibrate but they aren't bad. The mirror itself is slightly limiting as far as how much you can see and the amount it can swivil around to adjust it, but it gets the job done IMO. They are alittle too pricey, but still nice. (I know this is old but hopefully it'll help with others that may come across it).

I've been running them for about 2months. They look great and provide a good view from both sides. However, when driving above 10 mph they vibrate pretty bad. Still functional though, you can still see vibrating cars behind you. Thought about returning them but decided to keep them b/c they are the best looking solution out there.

Hill-Country, You'll be glad you purchased the Outlaws, after getting over the sticker price shock. I've run a few different mirrors, the Outlaws remain the best. Had mine for a number of years and many miles. They still hold up well, and the vibration is very minor. The only issue was the mirror came loose from the shaft, so I popped out the red plastic stopper, and simply tightened the bolt inside.

do not over tighten the outlaw mirrors both at the hinge or at the connection from the arm to the mirror.
over tightening will just blow apart the plastic holding the mirror to the arm.
too tight at the arm to the door hinge will result in the ovaling of that hole and then there is no way to attach to the jeep.
I ended up selling mine and making my own for under $10 https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...irror-solution Yes you get some vibrations, but same as the $130 mirrors. For that price tag, they should have been way better built then the plastic that just wears after a few uses. The dietech mirror mounts look to pretty solid, you just have to find another set of mirrors or switch yours everytime.
